Our Curriculum

Easter Preschool’s curriculum contributes to the development of the whole child.  It’s based on appropriate practices and adjusted to meet the interests, needs, and skill level of each student.

We seek to provide early and appropriate opportunities for every child to develop socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and academically.

Play-Based Learning

An early childhood education that is rich in hands-on activity allows the child to experiment and problem-solve while providing the foundation for future academic experiences. We encourage children to become independent and inquisitive learners now and throughout their lives.

Play Based Learning Leads to School readiness!

Class Dynamics

Children at Easter Preschool are three-, four-, and five-years-old.  They’re combined into classrooms with 20 children of mixed ages.  Each child grows at their own rate and has differing experience levels.  By providing children with open-ended experiences, they learn at the pace for which they’re developmentally prepared.

Easter Preschool Director

Easter Preschool is my first baby and home away from home!  I’ve been here since the beginning, 30 years ago.  I have an early childhood degree from Central College in Pella, IA.  I love helping children build strong foundations and families build relationships with the school environment.  My husband and I live in Eagan and have three grown children. I love the Packers, Broadway musicals, and the water!

I began working at Easter Preschool 22 years ago when my son and daughter were both students here.  It was a place of wonder and joy for them and continues to be for me!  I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Child Psychology and earned a Master’s degree from St. Mary’s University in Counseling Psychology.  Every child is different and learns in their own way and I strive to support them where they are at.  I am officially an empty nester as both of my children have graduated from college, are gainfully employed (sigh!), and live on their own.  I enjoy spending time at the gym and have a dog that loves walks and trips to the dog park!

I’ve been at Easter Preschool for 20 years. I have an early childhood degree from the U of M, Waseca. I have a love for children, ever since I was old enough to babysit (10 years of age). I enjoy getting down at the child’s level to help them discover what’s important to them in a playful, yet learning and safe environment. My husband and I enjoy the outdoors, especially riding bike or hiking. However, I can be found indoors with a hot cup of tea or coffee enjoying a good book or watching a movie.
